The Australian Rugby League Commission have given NRL Clubs the go ahead to sign up to two PNG pathway players outside of their salary cap to help better prepare them for when a PNG side enters the NRL competition in 2028

This means those individuals who have participated in junior rugby league in Papua New Guinea will be allowed to be signed by an NRL club and will have their full salaries exempt from both the top 30 and any supplementary salary caps.
